Tax Exemption Status for Tax Payers in India
CoME has been granted the tax exemption status by the Government of India (Department of Income Tax) and registered under 12A and 80G of Income Tax Act. Donations made by Indian tax payers are tax deductible under the scheme offered by the Indian government.
This status is granted to those organizations which have maintained properly audited accounts and submitted them to the Commissioner of Income Tax for scrutiny and approval at the end of every financial year. The renewal of the tax exemption status must be made every three years.
Tax Exemption for Donors in USA
Donations and Sponsorships using PayPal are made to Children of Mother Earth (USA), a fully registered 501 (c) 3 charity in the US. All donations and sponsorships are tax-free to US Taxpayers.
Tax Exemption for Tax Payers in Other Countries (outside India and USA)
If you wish to donate to CoME and you are also eligible for a tax deduction benefit in your country, you may be able to make your donation through a charity organization that is registered (and has tax exemption status) in your country, especially if it is an Indian community organisation which offers this service. Please inquire, verify, and select an organization of your choice at your discretion.

Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (F.C.R.A.)
CoME has also been granted registration under the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (F.C.R.A.) from the central government of India (Ministry of Home Affairs). Our registration number is 136470045. This registration is granted only after thorough investigations of the organization by the concerned authorities. The F.C.R.A registration is mandatory for any organizations in India who receives donations in foreign currencies and/or from foreign sources. The registered organization is required to submit its audited financial report to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, annually.
